Woke up early, and was typing in various searches, relocating to portland, moving to portland, etc, and found you. My husbalnd & I are from (and still in) Houston, and are starting to plan a move to Portland either next summer or the summer after that. We're dragging our feet only because of the high unemployment rate in Oregon right now (and rather skewed housing prices, at least compared to what we're used to!). Between selling our current home at a decent price, finding one (willing to rent for first year) at a decent price, and finding three decent jobs (our 24-yr-old son wants to come along when we make the move) right away, we don't want to make a horrible financial mistake and move without considering the timing of everything. Hope you continue to update this blog as you continue to explore Portland, and all its' ups and downs. P.S. Love the pictures of the new house!
